About Literary Leydenites.....

Leyden’s book club started in the fall of the 1999-2000 school year under the guidance of the district’s gifted program coordinator Janine Asmus and former West Leyden principal David Franson.

Since its inception, club members have read books from numerous genres including fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction, biography, fictionalized biography, non-fiction novel, short story, thriller and magical realism.

The goal is to foster a love of reading, the exchange of ideas, and an interest in exploring new and sometimes “out-of-the-box” genres. Gatherings are informal and rich with stimulating conversation and camaraderie.

Meetings are held about four times a year. All are invited and encouraged to participate.
